Summerhall Place, Edinburgh

Wednesday, 26 Jun - Thursday, 27 Jun

Join us as we test part of the Portal performance, the latest performance project from Martin Green of LEPUS.  On Wed and Thurs we are looking for 12 willing audience members, on Friday we are looking for 24.

This will be very much part of the creative process, so not a performance!  But as such should it be very exciting!  And having tested the portal with us you might want to come back on Sunday and see our sharing (which you can book for here)

Here is what we know already about The Portal

It is a multi-disciplinary experiential piece involving music, performance and animation

It is an immersive piece for small audiences-between 100 and 140 at one time

It is particularly well suited to unusual spaces, basements, cellars, tents, disused factories etc

The Portal is expected to premiere in Scotland in 2020 and we are now gathering partner interest for touring from June 2020 onwards

For The Portal, Martin has brought together a team of some of Scotland's finest creative brains including:

Wils Wilson (National Theatre of Scotland's The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart, Karine Polwart's Wind Resistance,  and the forthcoming Life is a Dream for the Lyceum Theatre).

Designer Kai Fischer (Tracks of the Winter Bear, Traverse Theatre, Saturday Night and The Destroyed Room Vanishing Point)

Performers Dylan Read (founder member of Théâtre Senza, and with Wils Wilson for Royal Lyceum/Bristol Old Vic -Twelfth Night; The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other; Cockpit) and Isobel MacArthur (Cyrano de Bergerac National Theatre of Scotland as well as work for The Tron, Pitlochry Festival, Lyceum and Citizens Theatre).

Regular Lepus collaborators and BAFTA winners Will Anderson and Ainslie Henderson contribute animation

In addition to Martin’s own composition original music from  James Holden (Warp/Border Community) has been specifically commissioned for The Portal
